St. Monica Catholic School Signup Sheets for Volunteer Opportunities
We rely on our valuable volunteers’ energy, creativity, and input, AKA amazing parents!
Below are many of the service opportunities currently available.
We encourage parents to volunteer and become involved. However, to ensure a secure school for our students, we require that parents complete “Safe Environment” training before serving in a volunteer capacity. The Archdiocese of Seattle mandates this training. Please visit https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ to complete the background check and signup for a class.
Service Commitment- All our families commit during registration to a minimum of thirty (30) service hours between July 1st and June 30th to the school. Service hours may be earned in school or parish activities.
- Volunteer Hours are recorded in the Facts Family Portal, and opportunities are continuously added throughout the school year as we plan our Parent Club events.
Teacher Meeting Snack Weekly
Event Chair: Jacqui Balinbin
Teacher Snacks - a great way to say “thank you.”
We love our teachers and school staff! The school community provides snacks each Wednesday for the weekly staff meeting. It’s a simple way to get your volunteer hours while taking care of our St. Monica staff.
What is involved? Provide snacks for approximately 40 teachers/faculty to enjoy during their weekly Wednesday staff meeting. Snacks do not need to be homemade/fancy—no need to provide drinks or serving wares.
Suggested items to bring:
- Platters of veggies and fruit,
- Hummus and pita bread/chips/veggies
- Bagels Cheese & crackers combo
- Sweet treats
Snacks can be dropped off in the office any time before Noon. If you want more details, don't hesitate to contact Teacher Snack Coordinator: Jacqui Balinbin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer Hours for Snacks
Volunteer hours are calculated on time AND dollars spent. For example, if I went to the store and paid $30 for cooking ingredients AND spent 2 hours preparing food for staff, I would record 4 hours (2 for the time spent plus 2 for the $30 spent… $15 = 1 hour).
