The percentile rank of average SS: National School Norms:
The percentile rank of average SS: National School Norms is determined by treating the average standard score as the score for the building or class. When that score is compared to the scores (averages) of all other schools in the nation for that same grade, the resulting percentile rank is based on the school building norms (or scores of the schools).
Example: If the percentile rank of the avg. SS-National School Norms in sixth grade Reading is 97 – this means that in Reading, the St. Monica sixth grade did better than 97 percent of the other sixth grades in the nation on the ITBS. This includes both public and private schools.
The scores above reflect all students at St. Monica School. Per our mission statement, we strive to meet all children where they are at academically, and work with them to reach their highest potential. We do not adjust for students needing special accommodations.
In Partnership with John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, St. Monica School encourages our highly capable learners to explore enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom. CTY’s Talent Search for grades 2-8 is the bridge to CTY and is open to our St. Monica Students scoring in the 95th Percentile or higher in one or more areas (mathematics, verbal, or composite score) on the ITBS.
