Teacher Appreciation Week

I wish to thank all parents and students for making Teacher Appreciation Week so very special, and especially Shelley Helms, Leslie Lawrence and Andrea Chatalas. On behalf of our teachers and staff, I thank you for the flowers, coffee, exquisite lunch on Tuesday, scrumptious treats, and most of all, for your love and support.

May Crowning Mass, May 5

We invite you to join us tomorrow at 8:30 am for this special Mass in honor of our Blessed Mother. Our first and eighth graders are assisting with the liturgy preparations.

Next Tech Update

We hope that you received and had a chance to read our recent Technology Update. The next update, outlining the 1:1 roll-out should come your way in the next couple of days. Please read it carefully and take the survey!

Threat Training, May 10

This is our last reminder to our volunteers for this important training with MIPD on Wednesday, May 10, at 2:45 pm, in the school library.

St. Monica Gardens Project

As spring marches on, you will be seeing terrariums and outdoor gardens starting to pop up in and around our school. This is the product of months of PBL (Project Based Learning) planning. The students and teachers have been busy engaging fully those important 21st Century Skills of collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and a bit of engineering as well. We are starting deliberately small this year, and plan to expand from here on.

We will be needing garden-loving volunteers to help maintain the fruits of our labor this summer. Could you please let your child’s teacher know if you can assist with watering, weeding and harvesting our vegetable garden? The produce will benefit the parish’s Friends of the Needy group, and so by helping maintain our gardens, you will also assist in feeding the hungry. This is engagement of Catholic mission at its best. Thank you!

Spring Flower Pick-up

Spring flower and hanging basket pick-up is next Tuesday, May 9, starting at 2:30 pm. Please make sure you pick up your lovely flowers or arrange for someone to do it for you. Thank you!
