St. Monica Math Program News

Our math program continues to evolve and soar. This link, Math K-8 2017, will take you to a document where we recap our accomplishments this year, as well as outline our goals for the 2017-2018 school year. We invite you to contact Mr. Sarlitto, our Math Chair, or Mrs. Wilson if you have questions. More in-depth information will be available to all parents at the Back-to-School Night in the fall.

Summer Care Survey Results

Thanks to our families for the incredible feedback on the Summer Care Program possibility at St. Monica!

Survey results are as follows:

  • 27 families responded
  • Significant interest in full-time program Summer program
  • Meets a childcare need with emphasis on socialization, academics and faith education
  • Interested in themed weeks such as science, math, sports and art
  • Desired pricing between $200 and $350 per week
  • Part-time and drop-in attendance should also be considered

The School Commission’s recommendation is to launch the program in the Summer of 2018!

Last Day of School

We hope you can join us for Mass at 8:30 am, followed by the award ceremony at 9:45 in the gym. We will present the middle school Honor Roll, art and music awards, Speech Team awards, and the Heart of Gold for the virtue of perseverance. Dismissal will be at 11 am. There will be no After School Care.

Hello Summer! Year End Party- Friday, June 16th!

Please plan on attending the Year End Party on the last day of school! The Parent Club is hosting a big bash with multiple bouncy houses, face painting, lunch and an ice cream truck! Let’s welcome summer together with this final family friendly event of the school year. Parental supervision for all students is required. School dismisses at 11:00 a.m. and the party runs until 1:00 p.m Lunch is included, and ice cream will be available for $3 (cash only).

School Commission for 2017-18

We are looking for new members to join our School Commission as several current members will be rolling off. The School Commission is an advisory board to the pastor and principal in several areas, which include school policy and finance. If you are interested and if you possess skills in the areas of finance, marketing, human resources, communication, tech, then please consider applying for this position by filling out the self-nomination form (see link below) and sending it to me at awilson@stmonicasea.org and to Jamie North at jnorth@stmonicasea.org. Box Tops Chair Needed

We  thank Monica Tracey for chairing this fundraiser faithfully for many years. It has enabled us to make donations toward supplies for various classes over the years. This is Monica’s last year as St. Monica parent, and we need a Box Tops Fundraising Chair. Please contact Monica at monicatracey@earthlink.net to learn more.

Sunday Coffee & Donuts help needed for Summer

Before summer begins, the parish would like to let you know the Sundays that are open for groups to host coffee and donuts. The dates are June 25, July 16, 23 & 30, August 20 & 27. Please contact Connie@stmonicami.org if you might be able to host a Sunday.  Thank you so much for all you do!

 St. Monica Parish Student Internship Position Summer 2017

Looking to earn some money over the summer?
Seeking work experience and leadership opportunities?
The parish office is seeking candidates who want to:

  • Learn the aspects of managing a parish/organization amid dynamic schedules and campus upgrades
  • Put their skills and talents to good use
  • Develop better collaborative skills
  • Gain experience with business functions and liturgical planning
  • Make a difference

The Management Intern will be a part-time, stipend volunteer who will be involved in all aspects of parish management.The minimum educational qualification required is a high school diploma. Candidates should be working toward or having an Associate degree. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is a plus. A strong interest in entering a position in the non-profit sector is preferable.
