New Global Outreach Partnership in Peru
This week we made our first connection with the Mary Bloom Center in Puno, Peru, our new focus for global outreach. The Mary Bloom Center is a mission founded in 1994 by Archdiocesan priest, Fr. Phillip Bloom. The center bears the name of Fr. Bloom’s mother and shares her values of faith, family and children. At the Mary Bloom Center, local underserved families receive food, medicine, medical treatments, supplies, and educational scholarships. In addition, the center features a tutoring program established in the memory of Fr. Bloom’s nephew, Maj. Bob Lindenau who served in the US Army in Afghanistan where he was killed in action. The Bob Lindenau Tutoring Program provides education and food to 60+ students each year. The St. Monica students and staff will begin working together to assist in the mission of the Mary Bloom Center. Two immediate goals are fundraising and starting a pen pal program with the tutoring program children. We are excited about this new opportunity to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
ITBS Scores on Our Website
The fall 2015 scores are available on our website HERE. The scores have revealed gains in virtually every grade and multiple subject areas. For the second year in a row, our students have made excellent gains in math. St. Monica students consistently score above grade level, and 61 of the 114 students who tested last fall scored 95% percent or higher in at least one subject area.

School Supply Kit Program
We are excited to announce the SchoolKidz, Teacher Tailored School Supply Kit Program as an easy way for parents to purchase back-to school supplies. Ordering info will be coming soon. Make sure to place your order during the sale to take advantage of this great service! This program will save you time and make back-to-school shopping more convenient. SchoolKidz offers brand name products in their kits such as Crayola®, Fiskar’s®, Elmer’s®, Staples®, and more. Best of all, the kits contain items that have been specifically requested by our teachers for each grade. You can see a sample of what one of these kits looks like HERE. We believe you will find the pricing to be very reasonable and comparable to what you would spend when driving around from store to store during the back-to-school rush.
