Under New Management

St. Monica Community, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the warm welcome that my family and I have received. I truly feel blessed by this opportunity to lead the St. Monica Parish School and be a part of the school family. My husband, Eli, and I have been happily married for 23 years and have been blessed with the gift and responsibility of nurturing and loving our three amazing daughters, Kaitlynne, Margaret and Haylee.  Kaitlynne just graduated from Michigan State and will be beginning her PhD program at Washington State in the fall.  Margaret will be a senior in high school and Haylee will be a freshman.  Needless to say they keep us busy and make us super proud. I am a product of Catholic schools, elementary through graduate school.  I earn my bachelors and masters degrees from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  I started teaching in public schools in Longview and Yelm but knew that I needed to go “home” to Catholic school.  I wanted and needed to be able to teach the whole child; to be able to share my faith simultaneously with the core curriculum. I spent the last 20 years teaching and leading in Catholic schools.  I went back to my elementary school, St. Irenaeus in Cypress, CA.  While there, I was given the added responsibility of Assistant Principal and returned to LMU for my Masters in Catholic Schools Administration.  After two years of the leadership role and graduation from the program, I was blessed with a new ministry, the principalship of St. Cyprian in Long Beach, CA.  It was six of the best years of my career as I was able to share my faith and spirit to a larger community than just my little classroom. Upon returning to Washington, I prayed that I would once again be able to lead a school and create a family community.  St. Monica School is a blessing to me and I pray daily that I will be given the gifts of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide, support and motivate my new community.  I ask that you keep our school in your prayers as we progress through this transition. God bless and thank you for your continued support. Marybeth Bohm
