Martha Ritter-Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

We are excited to welcome Martha Ritter to the St. Monica Catholic School Family

Martha Ritter and her family have been active parishioners at St. Monica parish for the past 17 years. A native of San Diego, she has lived her entire adult life and raised her family here in the Pacific Northwest. Martha received her degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from UCLA, and was a 4-year member of the UCLA Rowing team. The best thing to come out of several years of pursuing a spot on the national rowing team was meeting a fellow rower, her husband Tom, and their marriage and family.

Martha has been homeschool educating her 5 children for the past 17 years, using a Classical Catholic model. Martha is excited to bring her love of her faith, learning, and The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) to St. Monica School and Parish. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the special space it takes place (the Atrium) is a wonderful way to share the faith with children and is a blessing to all the adults involved. Martha is certified in both Level 1 (3-6 year olds) as well as Level 2 (6-9 year olds) and hopes to receive formation for Level 3 (9-12) in the next few years. Martha has been a catechist in both the Level 1 and 2 Atriums at St. Anthony Parish, Renton for the past 15 years.

Martha spends many hours during her week carpooling and watching her children in their activities! In her free time she loves to get out with her family and enjoy the beauty God’s creation in nature all around us, walk her Golden Doodle, and tap dance in an Adult Tap Class.

St. Monica Catholic School has joined the Sheepfold!

The Sheepfold is a consortium of Pacific Northwest communities that supports and offers formation courses for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Roman Catholic religious formation for children ages 3 to 12. CGS is based on the Bible and the liturgy of the Catholic Church; it is inspired by the principles of Montessori education. LEARN MORE
