We send out a weekly email called the Crusader Communique every Monday. This newsletter contains important information on schedules, events, and links to school resources such as uniforms, lunches, volunteering, and registering for events. Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive it (often, it hides there). You may also view past newsletters on our website, https://stmonicasea.org/crusader-communiques/.

School Office Hours
St. Monica Catholic School takes the security and safety of our students seriously. Therefore, during school hours, the St. Monica Campus is locked. The main entrance is equipped with security cameras, and we require all visitors, volunteers, parents, or deliveries to be “buzzed-in” and then “signed in” at the front office. We appreciate your patience.
Our school office is open 7:30 am – 3:30 pm on school days, and our office number is 206-232-5432.
Morning Drop-off Procedures
St. Monica Catholic School opens the doors for students at 8:00 am for the 8:15 am first-period bell. For the safety of our students, you are encouraged to use the “valet” line at the main entrance. Stay warm and dry in your car while our staff greets your student to assist in opening and closing car doors and backpack wrangling.
- Morning drop-off is along the east side of 87th Ave SE.
- We have teacher aides to assist the children out of the cars.
- If needed, all cars should be facing North on 87th Ave and drive around the block to face the correct direction.
- Please DO NOT drop off your children on the other side of the street and let them cross.
- DO NOT drive into the parking lot and drop off along the sidewalk.
Note for Preschool- Licensing requires that all Pre-K children be walked to the Pre-K building and signed in and out daily.
Afternoon Pick-up Procedures
Dismissal begins at 3:10 on all school days, except for Wednesday dismissal, at 1:40 pm. Students are split between the main entrance pick-up and the upper parking lot adjacent to the gymnasium. Families will be notified at the beginning of the school year which pick-up location they will pick up their children at the End of the day.
- All cars should enter from the South End of the parking lot off 44th
- Stay in the right-hand lane for drive-through pick-up only.
- Please DO NOT park in this lane. Cars must continue to pull forward as others exit. Please pull into the left lane and exit the parking lot when you have picked up all your children.
- Traffic flows into the lot from 44th St. and onto 87th Ave SE.
After School Care
After School Care (ASC) is a supervised, safe place for grades Pre-K through 5. Please submit the ASC Agreement using the link below to confirm your ASC needs. If you have any questions or need additional information, don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
School Picture Day
September 7, 2022
Students may come in full uniform, spirit wear, or “nice” picture attire. (Parents’ preference for the photo.) Kids Photography will take pictures right after the first bell and start with the youngest classes. After that, all students have their photos taken for the yearbook and school records.
Each student paid a $200 Educational Tech/Curriculum/ School Supplies fee during registration. This fee covers all necessary consumable supplies such as pencils, paper, folders, etc. Please see the School Supply List 22-23 for additional items students need to purchase.
Uniforms and Uniform Exchange
All students are required to wear a uniform. We also have a gently used “uniform exchange” next to our school office. All items are free. Come by and take a look during school hours.
- Land’s End: www.landsend.com School Code: 900163767
- Dennis Uniform: www.dennisuniform.com School Code: XTM450
Keep an eye out for ordering Crusader Spirit wear. Spirit wear is different from uniforms! Wednesdays are our Spirit wear day when students (and teachers) can dress more casually as long as they wear Crusader logo clothes. This sale will open in the summer with a link sent in the Communique.
All St. Monica Catholic School parents are automatically members of the Parent Club. Our Parent Club coordinates the many volunteer efforts needed by the school to build community and support the school faculty and staff, significantly enhancing the St. Monica experience. Parents have many opportunities to volunteer as room parents, event leads, and much more throughout the school year. Parent Club meets once a month for planning and fellowship.
The required volunteer commitment is 30 hours per family per academic year. All volunteers must have current Background Checks, and SEP training completed to volunteer. The Archdiocese of Seattle mandates this training. Please visit https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ to complete the background check and sign-up for a class.
Community service hours are also required for middle school students.
To sign up to volunteer, please click here: https://stmonicasea.org/volunteer/.
Please record your family volunteer hours in your Facts Family Portal. As we plan our Parent Club events, opportunities are continuously added throughout the school year.
Each Service Hour equals $15, so if you volunteer to bring teacher snacks and spend $30, you can add 2 hours, and if you make something, add your cooking time too.
Volunteer Hours are recorded in the Facts Family Portal, and opportunities are continuously added throughout the school year as we plan our Parent Club events.
Hot Lunch Program
Our lunch program starts on the second day of school, September 1. All students may order lunch directly through Lunch Ladies, our lunch program. Ordering can be done weekly, monthly, or daily by 8 pm for the next day.
Every Saturday, you will receive an email about the lunch menu for the upcoming weekend and what will be served with each meal. If you plan to order weekly, this will serve as a reminder to place your order for the week.
Please see the Lunch Ladies Easy Ordering Instructions to register for our online ordering system.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Lunch Ladies at 425-444-9573 or email at LunchLadiesLLC@gmail.com.
We provide devices for all students for MAP testing. In addition, it is required that all middle and high school students have access to a computer at home with the full capabilities of a laptop PC.
