Parent Club

St. Monica School welcomes families from across the greater Seattle and Bellevue area, with parents, guardians, grandparents, alumni, faculty, trustees, and friends from around the world making up our network of Crusaders. We strive to build and foster strong connections and to uphold St. Monica's mission in our daily lives. Most importantly though, Parent Club is here to support our current students – the youngest members of the St. Monica family – as a network of passionate advocates, volunteers, and philanthropists.

Parent Club hosts several events throughout the year to bring the school and families together. Some of our favorites include the Halloween Trunk or Treat, the Christmas Potluck and Gingerbread Contest, and the Holy Hoedown Auction.

No matter where you live – down the street or across the water – we encourage you to get involved, and we offer many ways for parents to do so throughout the year. Volunteer Opportunities

St. Monica School offers different ways for parents and guardians to volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to build relationships with other families and to get to know the school and community more intimately. Below are areas in which you can become involved. These opportunities serve to strengthen the community as a whole and enrich both the parent and student experience. 

Service Commitment- All our families commit during registration to a minimum of thirty (30) service hours between July 1st and June 30th to the school. Service hours may be earned in school or parish activities.

Volunteer Hours are recorded in the Facts Family Portal, and opportunities are continuously added throughout the school year as we plan our Parent Club events.

Safe Environment Training

We encourage parents to volunteer and become involved. However, to ensure a secure school for our students, we require that parents complete “Safe Environment” training before serving in a volunteer capacity. The requirements are an initial class called “Protecting God’s Children,” Afterward, you must take online classes periodically and keep your background check up to date. Please visit https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ to complete the background check and register for a class.

Monica’s Table

Monica’s Table ministry is a group of volunteers that offer meal preparation and delivery for families in need due to illness, the birth/adoption of a baby, or a family member’s loss. If you know of a family in need, please get in touch with one of our co-chairs or the school office. Our network of cooks is ready to prepare and deliver meals to those in need.

Initially started by a group of parishioners, this Ministry is now administered through Parent Club at the School.

Lunch Ladies Hot Lunch Program

Our lunch program starts on the second day of school, September 5. All students may order lunch directly through Lunch Ladies, our lunch program. Ordering can be done weekly, monthly, or daily by 3 pm for the next day.

Every Saturday, you will receive an email about the lunch menu for the upcoming weekend and what will be served with each meal. If you plan to order weekly, this will serve as a reminder to place your order for the week.

Morning Drop-off Procedures

St. Monica Catholic School opens the doors for students at 8:00 am for the 8:15 am first-period bell. For the safety of our students, you are encouraged to use the “valet” line at the main entrance. Stay warm and dry in your car while our staff greets your student to assist in opening and closing car doors and backpack wrangling.

Morning drop-off is along the east side of 87th Ave SE.
We have teacher aides to assist the children out of the cars.
If needed, all cars should be facing North on 87th Ave and drive around the block to face the correct direction.
Please DO NOT drop off your children on the other side of the street and let them cross.
DO NOT drive into the parking lot and drop off along the sidewalk.

Note for Preschool- Licensing requires that all Pre-K children be walked to the Pre-K building and signed in and out daily.

Afternoon Pick-up Procedures

Dismissal begins at 3:10 on all school days, except for Wednesday dismissal, at 1:40 pm. Students are split between the main entrance pick-up and the upper parking lot adjacent to the gymnasium. Families will be notified at the beginning of the school year which pick-up location they will pick up their children at the End of the day.

All cars should enter from the South End of the parking lot off 44th
Stay in the right-hand lane for drive-through pick-up only.
Please DO NOT park in this lane. Cars must continue to pull forward as others exit. Please pull into the left lane and exit the parking lot when you have picked up all your children.
Traffic flows into the lot from 44th St. and onto 87th Ave SE.
